Well kinda - Dublin-born Sherlock actor Andrew Scott is in competition with Lord of The Rings actor Ian McKellen for a prestigious radio award.

Scott, who hails from Dundrum, plays Moriarty in BBC drama Sherlock and he's on the shortlist for the BBC Audio Drama Awards for his performance in Claudine Toutoungi’s play Slipping for BBC Radio 4.

Scott plays a prosthetic eye specialist in the play, which aired on last September.

McKellen is also nominated for another Radio 4 adaptation, Rose Tremain's adaptation of Balzac’s Eugenie Grandet.

Also on the best actor shortlist for the prize is Julian Rhind-Tutt, while Game of Thrones’ Ellie Kendrick faces off against Mr Selfridge’s Aisling Loftus in the best actress category.
