Noel Gallagher: 'Liam should make a solo album'

Noel Gallagher has suggested that his younger brother Liam 'should should make a solo record and put his name up in lights' and he also says he was very sad that Beady Eye called it a day.

Speaking to music magazine Q, Noel said: "I’m amazed Liam has chucked it in, but he won’t stay out of the limelight for long. I think Liam should make a solo record - put his balls on the line, put his name up in lights and go for it."

Liam called time on Beady Eye last October and Noel says he believes the rest of the band were in shock about the decision.

"I’m very...sad about Beady Eye, because I know they really wanted to make it work. I wanted it to work for them. I was out with Gem Archer the other night. The vibe I’m getting is that it was a shock, although not completely surprising."

As he hinted during an interview on RTÉ 2fm earlier this year, Neol confirmed that he and Liam are talking again for the first time since Oasis’ hugely acrimonious split in 2009.

Noel releases Chasing Yesterday, his second album with High Flying Birds on March 2 and they play Belfast's Odyssey on March 3, 2015 and Dublin's 3Arena March 4, 2015.
