The Script rescue woman from car crash

The Script rescued a woman from her car having witnessed her crash on a busy UK motorway yesterday while they were on their way to a gig - and luckily she's completely ok.

Speaking to Key 103 radio station, frontman Danny O'Donoghue said the band witnessed the accident and had to help the 25-year-old woman out of her car, "You're never going to move somebody from an accident, but if there's smoke coming from the engine then you want to get them out as quick as possible.

"The girl said she couldn't feel her legs. She was so weak, so we helped her to the side of the road, sat her down, put a jacket around her, gave her some drink and waited for the ambulance."

The woman later thanked the band on the radio station saying, "I was hit by the side and it kept spinning round and round. Then they got me out of the car. There was all sorts going on at the same time. I gave them a cuddle before I left but I never said thank you."

An 18-year-old eyewitness added, "I suddenly saw a group of guys run onto the motorway. At first I thought it must have been their car and they'd all got out.

"The crash had literally just happened and there was smoke pouring out of the car. Suddenly I looked to my left and there was a guy jumping out of the car that had pulled up on the hard shoulder. He just ran into the middle of the road and he was racing around the car and trying to get her out.

"Then I realised who the people were - they were The Script and they had just run out into the middle of the motorway to try and help the woman out of the completely smashed up car. I thought she was dead, her body was up against the wheel and the car was quite smashed up. Nobody else was out of their cars apart from them. There was still traffic moving going around her car.

"They didn't think about themselves at all, they were just thinking about her. It was very selfless. Luckily she was okay."
