Dolores O'Riordan's mother has said that her daughter is "going through a marriage separation" from her husband of 20 years.

The Cranberries singer was arrested on Monday (November 10) at Shannon Airport in connection with alleged assaults on a flight attendant and a garda.

Speaking to the Limerick Leader, Eileen O'Riordan revealed that her daughter is in "a very vulnerable state" and is currently under the care of a psychiatric doctor.

Eileen told the newspaper: "She is going through a marriage separation at the moment. That’s hard for anyone."

The singer's mother added that Dolores is “a lot better than what she was, thanks be to God.

“She is under the care of a psychiatric doctor at the moment, a very nice lady. She is still in Ireland. She has a nurse with her and a doctor visits her every day because she can’t go out.”
