RTÉ 2fm will broadcast an All Irish Music, All Day schedule this Bank Holiday Monday, running from early morning to late night.
On Monday, October 27, the station will play "nothing but the best music from Irish artists from classic stompers from Horslips, U2 and The Waterboys to homegrown stars like Hozier, Delorentos, The Academic, Walking On Cars and Kodaline."
The day kicks off with Early, Early Breakfast at 6.00am with Lottie Ryan bringing listeners through an A to Z of Irish music, lingering at ‘H’ for an exclusive interview with Hozier as well as featuring a few select tunes from the Irish breakout artist of the decade.
Between 2.00pm and 4.00pm, Dave Fanning takes on Paddy McKenna of Weekenders to see which one of them can deliver the best Irish tunes of all time.
Director of Music & Sound at RTÉ 2fm, Mark McCabe, says: “This is such an exciting time for Irish music. Irish bands are gaining fans in greater numbers and reaching markets further than ever before.
"2fm is a massive supporter of Irish music and we continue to be committed to breaking new Irish talent onto the international stage. This bank holiday Monday, 2fm will give Irish artists - past, present and future - the recognition they deserve.”
