Jamie Dornan has said he doesn't do a good audition and is grateful to The Fall writer Allan Cubitt for believing in him as starring in the series has changed his life.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star and former model told British Vogue: "I don't sell myself well. I didn't do a good audition for The Fall."

He continued: "But the show's writer, Allan Cubitt, saw something in me. I think he had to work pretty hard to convince everyone else. The Fall changed my life – that's not an overstatement."

Cubitt added: "I guess I saw his potential and didn't let anything else stand in my way. You only need to meet Jamie once to realise that he has a huge amount going for him beyond being physically attractive."
