Harry Potter fans around the world were sent into a tizzy when JK Rowling sent a cryptic tweet on Monday that seemed to suggest she was writing a new Potter instalment.
The author hinted at a current project that she's writing, tweeting: "Cry, foe! Run amok! Fa awry! My wand won't tolerate this nonsense."
However, the best-selling writer has now crushed these hopes, and revealed that the tweet was referring to the Potter spinoff Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.
The solution to the anagram, solved by one of Rowling's followers, is: "Newt Scamander only meant to stay in New York for a few hours."
Newt is the main character in Fantastic Beasts, which takes place roughly 70 years before the events of the Harry Potter books.
Very busy at the moment working on a novel, tweaking a screenplay and being involved in @lumos campaigns. Back when I've finished something!

Newt only meant to stay in New York for a few hours. Circumstances ensured that he remained... for the length of a movie, anyway. X
