Colin Farrell's new film with Jessica Chastain, the Liv Ullman-directed and Fermanagh-set Miss Julie, is to open the Chicago International Film Festival tomorrow, Thursday October 9.

Deadline.com says the festival's founder/artistic director Michael Kutza said of the film, which is based on the play of the same name by August Strindberg: "With Miss Julie, Liv Ullmann gives new life to a classic."

He added: "It's a highly-charged, very erotic movie full of powerhouse performances."

There is no Irish release date for Miss Julie, which was filmed entirely in Co Fermanagh, at present.

The Chicago International Film Festival is the oldest competitive film festival in the United States and celebrates its 50th birthday this year.
