Judi Dench has joined Benedict Cumberbatch in the cast of BBC Two's The Hollow Crown.
The channel is working on three films as part of their second series of William Shakespeare's history plays: The War of the Roses, Richard III and Henry VI, which will air in two parts.
Dench has been cast as Cecily, Duchess of York in Richard III, which will see Sherlock star Cumberbatch play the titular character.
The actor personally asked Dench to join him in the upcoming drama during a question and answer session at this year's Hay Festival.
