The Saturdays' Frankie Bridge is the first celebrity to be confirmed for Strictly Come Dancing 2014.

She announced the news on BBC Breakfast this morning (August 13), while appearing with her bandmates.

She said: "I'm such a huge fan of Strictly! I've always wanted to be a part of the show - it looks like so much fun and the costumes are just gorgeous.

"Like so many little girls, I used to take dance lessons when I was in primary school and I really love dancing, but this is going to be so different from anything I have done with The Saturdays. I just can't wait to get started!"

The singer married her partner Wayne Bridge in June of this year. The couple are parents to son Parker, who was born in October 2013.

The BBC One show will return this September with a line-up of 15 celebrity dancers.

Tess Daly will return as the main host of the show, alongside Claudia Winkleman, who takes over from Bruce Forsyth, who stepped down in April.
