EastEnders fans are to see Sylvie Carter, the mother of Shirley (Linda Henry) and Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White), in Albert Square.
Digital Spy reports that an EastEnders spokesperson said: "We can confirm that Sylvie will be appearing in the show at some point."
The casting of the character has yet to be announced.
