Actor Will Smith will no longer star in the film adaptation of Marcus Sakey's bestselling book Brilliance.

The 45-year-old After Earth star, recently signed on to play a federal agent, one of a rare set of people born with extraordinary abilities, called 'brilliants' in the upcoming movie. However he has since left the project after delays in production, according to Deadline.

Brilliance will be directed by Don't Look Back filmmaker Julius Onah, with a script penned by Mission: Impossible screenwriter David Koepp.

Filming is slated to begin this summer (14).
