Noomi Rapace has been cast alongside Will Smith in the big screen adaptation of Marcus Sakey's novel Brilliance. 

The 34-year-old Swedish actress is to star in Brilliance which is set in a world where a small minority of the population are born as 'brilliants', people who are gifted with special powers, and a federal agent is tasked with tracking down a terrorist who intends to start civil war.

The Hollywood Reporter reports that Will Smith has been cast as a brilliant agent while Rapace will play a tattooed and pierced brilliant that is identified as a terrorist by the government.

Julius Onah will direct the move while David Koepp has written the script.
