Sherlock star Benedict Cumberbatch has denied reports that he is moving to America.

The London-born actor, who has garnered a large following in the States, said that Britain will always be his home.

When asked by Polish magazine W Cztery Oczy if he would consider moving to Hollywood, Cumberbatch said: "Not at all.

"I admire James McAvoy. He's such a brilliant actor, that work comes to him, not the other way round.

"He goes to the States only when he needs to, but he doesn't want to move there and analyse his script choices while waiting for new scripts by the pool."

The Star Trek: Into Darkness star added that he loves returning to London to see his friends and family when he has the time.

He added: "Every time I have a break, my friends and family know about it immediately. They know how much I need those meetings in the kitchen and long conversations with a glass of wine."
