Cobain: the twentieth anniversay of his death approaches

A former flat mate of Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain has reportedly put items belonging to the late singer up for sale online.

A man claiming to be the former bassist of grunge also-rans Gruntruck has placed the items, including skis, an old telephone and a broken video-game which he says belonged to Cobain, up for sale on classifieds site Craigslist.

In an anonymous posting, he says:  "Hey Seattle what’s up. I used to live with Kurt Cobain back in the 90s and I have been holding on to a bunch of his stuff that he left in a box when he moved out. He owed us rent and said he would get the box when he came back and gave us money but he never came back...”

Seattle’s Q13 Fox News, who first reported the story, got in touch with the seller and reported that he is a musician named Alex. He told the station, "[Kurt] has never been a big deal to me like he is to kids. I was just a friend of his, you know?"

The items for sale on the Craigslist are a Swatch twin phone, for $55 (€39.99), used Atomic Ark skis, for $80 (€58), and a damaged TOMY Kingman game, for $25 (€18).

Cobain died at the age of 27 in April 1994.
