Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey has confirmed that he will not be starring in the second season of True Detective.
McConaughey stars alongside Woody Harrelson in the crime drama, and confirmed at yesterday’s Oscars that he won’t be back on the show for any further seasons.
The Dallas Buyers Club star said, “I won’t be back for season two. Season one was finite.”
McConaughey executive produced the season that is currently airing on Sky Atlantic and did not say whether or not he will remain involved off-screen. HBO have yet to say whether or not they will be commissioning the show for a second run.
