Homeland actress Morena Baccarin is set to star in a new medical drama for ABC called Warriors.

The Hollywood Reporter says the actress has signed up for the new drama which features a hospital which cares for wounded soldiers.

The show is inspired by the Walter Reed Military Medical Center and focuses on military doctors and nurses as they work with wounded soldiers returning from Afghanistan as well as military families and veterans.

Baccarin is set to play psychiatrist and solider Tory Sterling in the drama who is returning to the hospital after a tour in Afghanistan.

Her role on Homeland was downgraded from series regular at the end of the last season following the death of her on-screen husband Nicholas Brody (Damian Lewis).
