Shia LaBeouf quoted Eric Cantona and then walked out of a press conference in Berlin for Lars von Trier's new movie Nymphomaniac: Volume I.
27-year-old Shia, who attended the press conference sporting ripped clothes and a missing bottom tooth, responded to the first question he was asked by quoting footballer Eric Cantona's famous 1995 line: "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea."
His co-stars Uma Thurman, Christian Slater, Stellan Skarsgard, and Stacy Martin giggled as he answered and applauded him as he walked off the stage.
He later appeared on the red carpet at the premiere of the movie wearing a brown paper bag on his head. Written on it were the words: "I am not famous anymore."
The two-and-a-half hour Nymphomaniac: Volume I follows a sex-addicted girl, played by newcomer Stacy Martin, and a long line of her lovers. A second volume has been made, with Charlotte Gainsbourg in the lead role.
Nymphomaniac: Volume I is released February 22.
