Fifty Shades of Grey producers have cast Oscar winner Marcia Gay Harden as Christian Grey's mother in the upcoming film adaptation of the best-selling novel.
Harden, who stars in The Newsroom and won an Academy Award for her role in Pollock, will star as Dr. Grace Trevelyan in the big-screen adaptation of EL James' erotic novel. In the story, Trevelyan adopted Grey (Jamie Dornan) when his birth mother died.
It was announced on Monday (December 2) that British pop star Rita Ora will join the cast as Grace's daughter and Christian's sister, Mia.
Harden, who also stars ABC's Trophy Wife, recently joined the cast of Magic in the Moonlight, Woody Allen's new film.
Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing the adaptation of the Fifty Shades of Grey, which will also star Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, Luke Grimes, Eloise Mumford and Jennifer Ehle.
Fifty Shades of Grey will be released on Valentine's weekend in 2015.
