Gary Barlow has revealed plans to work on Take That's seventh album in January.

The singer recently announced he will be leaving his X Factor judging role after this year's series so that he can focus more on his music career.

Having just released his own solo album, Barlow plans to re-focus his efforts on Take That.

Speaking to The Mirror he said, "The main reason I've decided to step away from X Factor is to focus on Take That, definitely. I see Take That as my main job, so it comes first. If the band are doing something then everything else moves to one side."

He added, "I haven't written any songs with Take That yet – we're literally going to start in January.

"We'll get together and talk about what we're doing and where we are. We'll ask, 'What's happening in music, where shall we go from here?"

It has not yet been revealed whether or not Robbie Williams will be joining the group in January to work on the album that is set for release next Christmas.
