Brian Kennedy and Ryan O'Shaughnessy began the Bank Holiday weekend in style, by unveiling their brand new tracks on The Hit on RTÉ One on Friday night.

After spending weeks working with two songwriters each, Kennedy and O'Shaughnessy had to choose which song was going to be their new single.

Kennedy decided to pick Kilkenny man Seán Redmond’s song, Try, while O'Shaughnessy went with Mark Graham and Francis Mitchell's track, Who Do You Love?

Speaking about picking Seán Redmond as his songwriter, Kennedy said: "This song is a change for me. I wanted something new but not too dissimilar to what I've done before and this song is perfect."

Meanwhile, O'Shaughnessy insisted that he could really relate to Antrim duo Mark Graham and Francis Mitchell, saying: "The new single depicts all the changes that have happened in my own life - musically, melodically and lyrically. And I really hope that people like it."

The single which has charted the highest will be announced live on RTÉ 2FM on Friday August 9.
