Irish rockers Kodaline suffered a major mishap during their Glastonbury set over the weekend, when a technical problem left them playing without sound.

Speaking to the Daily Star, frontman Steve Garrigan explained how he thought their performance had been deemed a failure when the audience stopped dancing.

He said: "I looked out and saw the crowd were completely motionless. They started chanting 'up' but I thought they were saying 'off'. It was bizarre. We had to go off (stage) for a bit and when we went back on (stage) the crowd got behind us."

Kodaline's debut album In a Perfect World is on sale now.
