Harry Potter star Emma Watson has criticised Paris Hilton and her lavish lifestyle.

The 23-year-old actress admitted that she was shocked when she visited the hotel heiress' lavish mansion to film scenes for her new film The Bling Ring.

Speaking to the Radio Times magazine about stepping into Paris' walk-in-wardrobes, Watson said: ''It's almost like consumerism as a form of kleptomania. She could never wear all of those clothes and half of them were brand new and still had the price tag on.

''But I suppose she just bought them to have them. We've all bought things on impulse but that's an entirely different thing.'' Emma further explained that the Bling Ring gang who famously stole over €2million worth of belongings from the homes of celebrities in the Hollywood Hills, would have wasted their time if they came to her house.

She added: ''I've got about eight pairs of shoes and that's it.''
Watson also commented on the "new breed" of celebrities, saying: ''There's a whole new definition to celebrity now. And I think that's why you see a lot of actors blanching at being associated with that word ''celebrity'' because it's become something that isn't really associated with having a craft...

''But it's easy for me to sound like a total hypocrite because, of course, I'm dressed in designer clothes right now.''
