Kate Winslet set to experience a space flight with new husband

Following her marriage to Ned RocknRoll last week, Kate Winslet will board a flight into space as a wedding present from Richard Branson.

The Sun reports that the newly-married couple received two tickets for the planned Virgin Galactic space trips in 2014. The groom's uncle is billionaire Sir Richard Branson.

The token from Branson to Winslet is believed to show appreciation for her role in rescuing his family after a fire broke out in his luxurious Necker Island retreat last year.

Single seat tickets for the journeys are approximately $200,000. Over 500 people have already purchased tickets including Russell Brand and Ashton Kutcher.

The 37 year-old Oscar-winning actress married her third husband in a secret ceremony in New York at Christmas time, being given away by Titanic co-star Leonardo DiCaprio.
