Coronation Street fans have been told that Weatherfield's resident player, Ken Barlow (William Roache), will head out on a secret date in the soap next week.

After standing as Chair of Governors at Bessie Street School, Ken was reunited with former lover Wendy Crozier (Roberta Kerr), now the widowed Mrs Papadopolous.
The show's official website says the duo agree to put their past behind them, for the students' sake.
However, that's not as easy as it sounds.
Ken lies to wife Deirdre (Anne Kirkbride) and then goes on a secret date with Wendy, who, the show's website says, gives him a "special present".
