Coronation Street actress Lisa George has said she is delighted with the decision to pair up her character Beth Tinker with Kirk Sutherland.
The pair find themselves involved in an unexpected romance after Kirk saves Beth from a tricky situation with a blind date.
Speaking to Digitalspy George said "It's really nice having one-to-one scenes. There are some lovely scenes coming up between Beth and Kirk (Andrew Whyment), and it gives the audience a chance to see another side of Beth.
"Usually the viewers only see Beth as the really gobby person in the factory. But there are some really nice, tender little moments in this storyline, and Beth is quite open and honest with Kirk. I think it's really nice that the audience will get to see that."
Tonight Kirk offers Beth a lift to meet her blind date from a dating website. He doesn’t exactly turn out to be her prince charming and she does a runner. He gives chase and Kirk steps in to save the day.
Speaking about Whyment she said "He's absolutely lovely. He's so gracious as an actor, really giving, and he's lovely to work with. I hadn't worked with him before so I was a little bit nervous, but he's absolutely adorable."
