Christian Bale and Christopher Nolan have both given the thumbs-up to the prospect of a future cinematic re-boot of the Batman tale.
Speaking to MTV News, Bale said: "I'm very intrigued to see another interpretation of it at this point. It would be very interesting to see what someone else does with the character."
However, Bale insisted that he would not reprise his iconic role saying: "I'd be the first one in there to watch."
In a recent interview with Empire magazine, Christopher Nolan also admitted that he had no problem with someone doing something new with the DC Comics creation.
He said: "When I first met with Paul Levitz of DC Comics prior to Batman Begins, he explained to me clearly that Batman, of all superheroes, has thrived on reinterpretation and almost is strengthened by it.
Batman's character has evolved over the years, both in the comic book where he first emerged and in the blockbuster films that have taken him to a wider audience. "I'm talking about over the years in the comic books but also in the movies. So when the time is right, whenever someone does whatever the next iteration of the character is, they simply need to be true."
Meanwhile, Christian Bale has visited the survivors of last week's Dark Knight Rises shooting in Aurora, Denver.
