The Dark Knight Rises star Christian Bale paid an unannounced hospital visit on Tuesday to survivors of the Aurora shooting in Colorado.
The Denver Post reports that the Batman actor met seven survivors at the Medical Center of Aurora, five of whom were being treated there for their injuries and two others who had travelled from the nearby Swedish Medical Center to meet him.
Bale and his wife Sibi Blazic spent two-and-a-half hours at the hospital, where they also met medical staff and police officers.
Their visit to Aurora included them paying their respects at a memorial to the 12 people who died in the massacre, with Bale also meeting the Governor of Colorado, John Hickenlooper.
Bale had specifically requested that the media not be notified of his visit to Aurora.
