The Script will release their new album in September according to lead singer Danny O’Donoghue.

The band has been working on their follow-up album to 2010’s Science & Faith, but Danny O’Donoghue didn’t want them to rush the release of the album following his appearance as judge on the The Voice UK.

O’Donoghue told this week's RTÉ Guide that The Script had a meeting about their third album a few weeks ago and there’s talk of a September release. “I think we’re two songs away from being finished. I have to say we’ve really rinsed each other out when it’s come to writing this album. We really wanted to make an astonishing album and I feel we’ve really after coming up with the goods. It’s sounding really, really smoking. Of course I’m gonna say that though!”

The Script's second studio album Science & Faith reached number one in the UK and number three on US Billboard 200 chart.
