James Corden is the host of tonight's Brit Awards and he has reportedly said that it's the biggest night of his career so far.

The Sun reports that the 'Gavin & Stacey' star and soon-to-be dad is full of nervous excitement about introducing his favourite bands on stage at The O2 in London.

The 32-year-old TV and film star said: "I thought about turning up in an egg, carried by One Direction. I could do a Gaga!

"The Grammys haven't been televised yet over here so a lot of people wouldn't get it. I'd just be a bloke in an egg."

Last week a story was released saying how Corden had drilled a hole in his dressing room wall to keep an eye on Rihanna's preparations.

He said: "Preparations have been good. After last week's Rihanna story, I'm no longer in a room next to her. I've got a Brits Asbo. Or is that a Brasbo?"

Corden added: "I watched Adele's soundcheck. It is beautiful in its simplicity. And Take That is an amazing way to kick off the show.

"I think Tinie Tempah's performance will catapult him in the way Brits performances can.

"I'm pleased with the script. I'm a fan of so many of the acts that it felt wrong to do a comedy roast. We've played it pretty straight."

Corden, a big music fan, has donated his €59,000 (£50,000) fee to Comic Relief and has said that he has no ridiculous rider demands.

He said: "My rider is water and fruit. It's a joke. It's not rock 'n' roll at all.

"I'm going to do some damage at the after parties, though. It should be something special this year."
