Ryan Tubridy has expressed his shock at the controversy he caused by suggesting that he would not be wearing a jumper on 'The Late Late Toy Show' this year.
The presenter sparked much debate on Twitter yesterday when he hinted that he may become the first host to break with the jumper tradition on 'The Toy Show'.
Previous hosts Gay Byrne and Pat Kenny had always worn a special Christmas jumper on the show but for Tubridy's first show last year he wore a plain jumper, and may this year wear "something different altogether".
Speaking about the reaction to his comment, Tubridy said: "I’ve had more responses to 'jumpergate' than anything else since I started on Twitter."
"I really didn’t realise how strongly people felt about 'The Toy Show' jumper."
"It gets very hot under the studio lights and it would be nice to wear something a little more comfortable but I guess we’ll have to wait and see."
The presenter also admitted that he had been asked to sing on 'The Toy Show', saying that he was still considering that.
