RTÉjr and TRTÉ, the new channel-blocks for young people on RTÉ Two, have debuted today.

The new channel blocks will be broadcast on RTÉ Two Television during weekdays and on weekend mornings.

RTÉ Digital Radio's RTÉ Junior becomes RTÉjr Radio with complementary services across the day and the new cross-platform offer will stretch across www.rte.ie with associated content online.

RTÉjr on RTÉ Two for six-year-olds and younger features brand new home-produced programming including 'Hubble' with Emma O'Driscoll and her new puppet friend Ógie, and 'Grubz Up!', in which kids are shown how to grow, prepare and eat healthy home-made food.

TRTÉ on RTÉ Two for seven to 15-year-olds includes a broad swathe of brand new home-produced programming alongside the best of high-quality international productions.

New home-produced series include 'The Rumour Room', which features "big topics, comedy sketches, novelty songs, games, a bunch of cross platform content, and the very strange Scary Guy Paul", and 'elev8', a new live daily series with three brand new faces - Kildare man Ivan Minnock, Sligo native Seán Regan and Moldovan-born Diana Bunici - "who embrace all sorts of random acts".
