'Desperate Housewives' could continue on TV screens until 2013 after the show's creator, Marc Cherry, agreed a new deal with ABC Studios.
Variety reports that as part of a two-year extension agreed by Cherry, he will remain as executive producer of 'Desperate Housewives' for an eighth and ninth season.

However, the main stars of the show are currently only signed until the end of the seventh season in 2011 and further seasons would depend on them agreeing new deals.
