Reuters reports that Martha Plimpton will appear as the mother of a young patient in a multi-episode storyline.

The sixth season of 'Grey's Anatomy' premieres on American television on 24 September.
Plimpton's other credits include 'ER', 'Parenthood' and 'The Goonies'.
