Estate agent Philip Taylor has become the latest contestant to be fired by Alan Sugar on the BBC One reality series 'The Apprentice'.

The 29-year-old failed to sell any products in last night's task and had a blazing row in the boardroom with project manager Lorraine Tighe.

His flirting with team member Kate Walsh also became an issue during the showdown as the trio manoeuvred to save themselves.

Tighe said that she felt Taylor and Walsh were "on a jolly day out" during the task.

She continued: "Outside of this boardroom there is a close friendship going on here and I believe on that day it did affect their ability."

Walsh responded: "It's a cheap tactic and it's completely untrue. I would never compromise my business performance for personal reasons. I've got no loyalties here, Philip or otherwise. I don't think it was Philip's strongest task. All I know is I'm here to win."

Before sacking Taylor, Sugar said: "Philip, you're certainly a fiery person and I'm thinking about the hundreds of other people that I employ and thinking of their reaction to you. And it isn't good."

Afterwards, Taylor said: "Unfortunately I crossed paths with Lorraine and it was the end of us [sic]. Yes, I've got a big mouth, there is no doubt about it, but I'm a much better candidate than she is.

"I think they'll remember me and I think they'll remember the Body Rocka [a previous winning product] - but unfortunately they'll also remember Pants Man [a previous losing product]."
