Britney Spears - comeback has hit troubled waters

Britney Spears has sparked more negative comment after miming on a special 27th birthday performance on US TV, while Take That’s Gary Barlow has also slammed her live performances.

Spears continued the launch of her sixth studio album, 'Circus', during the tribute on ABC's Good Morning America but she mimed the lyrics and even the show's co-host Diane Sawyer referred to how she wished the troubled pop star would "sit and talk to us".

The singer was widely criticised for her lacklustre performance of new single 'Womanizer' on ITV's the X-Factor last weekend.

Yesterday, Barlow, with Take That head to head against Britney in the charts, told The Mirror: "I don't see the point of Britney anymore, she was rubbish on the show (X-Factor). I think she's more famous than she deserves to be now.

"Why come on a show like that and mime? I don't like her new song either. Her old stuff was great but maybe she should have spent more time on this one."

"Is Britney a low-talent personality vacuum prima donna or a misunderstood America's sweetheart pop megastar who just wants to dance?" asks the Showbiz Blog.
