RTÉ presenter Kathryn Thomas has spoken of her joy at winning the TV Personality of the Year award at the Irish Film and Television Awards.
Speaking to RTÉ Arts & Media Correspondent Sinéad Crowley, the 'No Frontiers' presenter said: "I knew I was in with a very high chance, but I didn't think I'd win it."
She continued: "I'm just so thrilled and delighted and proud for RTÉ and everybody that I work with. 'No Frontiers' is such a huge production and the team work so hard and RTÉ has had so much faith in it and the audience has been so loyal."
When asked about receiving the award from last year's winner, Bill O'Herlihy, Thomas said: "Bill O'Herlihy - live - I couldn't have asked for anybody better to give me the award! It was brilliant to receive it from him."
