It has been confirmed that the US President in the seventh series of the hit thriller '24' will be a woman.
Tony Award-winning actress Cherry Jones will play President Allison Taylor in the new series.
Jones is best known for her theatre work; her films include 'Ocean's Twelve' and 'The Perfect Storm'.
She also starred opposite Ralph Fiennes and Ian McDiarmid in the Brian Friel play 'The Faith Healer' on Broadway.
The new series of '24' premieres on US television in January.
