It is reported that the producers of 24 are considering having a female US President in the storyline for the next series of the hit thriller.
The Hollywood Reporter says that '24' made history by introducing the first black president (played by actor Dennis Haysbert) in a TV series.
The shows 'Prison Break' and 'Commander-in-Chief' have featured female presidents.
Sources told the trade daily that no final decision had been made on the president role for the next series of '24' and that its creators may choose to pursue a different storyline.
