Madonna was last night named the most stylish star by British fashion magazine Elle.
The 48-year-old star was honoured with the Style Icon Award for a career which has encompassed countless different looks over two decades.
She was praised by the Elle Style Awards panel for her ever-evolving image, from the fingerless gloves of the 1980s to her current incarnation as a leotard-clad disco diva.
Madonna will launch her new designs for high street fashion store H&M next month.
Other awards distributed last night included best model for Naomi Campbell, Penelope Cruz picked up the best film award for 'Volver', and 'Ugly Betty' star Ashley Jensen accepted the award for best TV show.
Thandie Newton won the best actress accolade and the best actor award went to Jude Law, while Amy Winehouse won best British music act.
Stella McCartney was named best international designer.
