Comedy actor Sacha Baron Cohen has been invited to visit Kazakhstan, after poking fun at the country in his new movie.

In the film 'Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan', Cohen plays a TV reporter called Borat, who takes the audience on a tour of his home country.

Rakhat Aliyev, Kazakh first deputy foreign minister, has now invited the comedian to visit the country.

"His trip could yield a lot of discoveries - that women not only travel inside buses but also drive their own cars, that we make wine from grapes, that Jews can freely attend synagogues and so on," he said.

The Central Asian state's Foreign Ministry previously threatened Cohen with legal action after he ridiculed the country in a sketch for an MTV Awards show.
