Brad Pitt has described the birth of his daughter with Angelina Jolie as "truly peaceful".

In the couple's first broadcast interview since the birth of Shiloh-Nouvel on 27 May, Pitt said: "I'd just like to thank the people of Namibia".

"They've been so gracious and made our stay here very special, and because of that we've had an incredible time with our family exploring the country, and [had] a truly peaceful birth of our daughter," he said, in the interview with the Namibian Broadcasting Corporation.

Earlier in the week, Pitt and Jolie said at a press conference that they had no immediate plans to marry.
