Hollywood stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have made their first public appearance together since the birth of their daughter Shiloh-Novel, explaining at a press conference that they had no immediate plans to marry.

The couple attended a news conference in Namibia, where they moved to before the birth of their daughter.

Speaking about the possibility of marriage, Jolie said: "There is nothing in the air. The focus is the kids, and we are obviously extremely committed to the children and as parents together."

"So that kind of says it for us, and to have a ceremony on top of it is nothing," she explained.

Pitt also thanked the Namibian government for giving Shiloh a Namibian passport. "We are grateful to receive it," he said. "Shiloh will also be grateful one day."

Speaking about why they chose to travel to Namibia ahead of the birth of their daughter, Jolie said: "We both had travelled to Africa and loved this part of the world."

"We did our homework about Namibia. We want to tell the world how magnificent this country and the people are."
