Actor Nicolas Cage and his wife Alice Kim Cage are celebrating the birth of their first child together, a boy who will be named after Superman.
The couple are naming the baby Kal-el, which is the comic-book birth name of the superhero from Krypton.
Cage's publicist, Annett Wolf, confirmed the news of the baby's birth, saying: "They are healthy and happy and it's quite lovely."
The baby's full name will be Kal-el Coppola Cage. Coppola is the family name of actor Cage, who is director Francis Ford Coppola's nephew.
Cage and his wife Alice Kim met last year and married in July of this year.
