Nicolas Cage is to star in the true story of the two police officers who were the last people rescued from the rubble of the Twin Towers after the 11 September attack on New York.
Oliver Stone will direct the as-yet-untitled movie.
The two Port Authority police officers, Sergeant John McLoughlin and William Jimeno, sold the rights to their story to movie giant Paramount and Cage will play McLoughlin in the film.
No other actors have been cast at present.
