Actor James Doohan, renowned for playing the role of Scotty in 'Star Trek', has died. He was 85.
According to his agent, the actor had been suffering from pneumonia and Alzheimer's disease before his death.
Doohan reportedly died at his home in Redmond, Washington with his wife of 28 years, Wende, by his side.
The actor played chief engineer Montgomery Scott on the Starship Enterprise in the original 'Star Trek' television series, answering to the famous catch-phrase "Beam me up, Scotty".
