'Star Trek: Enterprise', the prequel to the original 'Star Trek' series is being axed by US broadcaster UPN.
UPN said in the face of weak ratings it is cancelling the series which is the last surviving spin-off of the famed 1966 sci-fi series.
The show will broadcast its finale in the US on May 13.
'Enterprise' made its debuted in September 2001 and starred Scott Bakula as Capt. Jonathan Archer.
Earlier spin-offs included 'The Next Generation', 'Deep Space Nine' and 'Star Trek: Voyager'.
