Kylie Minogue has thanked her fans for their support during her battle with breast cancer.
In a statement on her website the singer said she faced a long road ahead, with more treatment planned on her return to Europe from Australia.
The 36-year-old underwent surgery in Melbourne soon after her diagnosis last month.
Minogue said that since her diagnosis she had been told that thousands of women had "become more aware than ever of the risk of breast cancer" and was especially pleased that younger women were becoming more proactive in guarding against breast cancer.
She paid tribute to fans who made donations to breast cancer research and cancer charities.
"I have been overwhelmed by your show of generosity and understanding. Just what the doctor(s) ordered," she said.
