Singer Kylie Minogue is recovering after breast cancer surgery, which has been described as successful by her surgeon.
The star underwent surgery at a Melbourne hospital on Friday, after being diagnosed with early breast cancer.
Minogue's surgeon, Dr Jenny Senior, addressed the media after performing the operation, saying: "I’m very pleased to confirm that the operation was successful. I feel confident we caught the cancer in time and she is now on the road to complete recovery."
"Kylie has been the perfect patient and has charmed all my staff," Senior said. "I just wish I could have met her under happier circumstances."
Australian media have reported that Kylie has been discharged from the hospital where she was being treated, and is currently recuperating at her parents' home.
