Scottish actor David Tennant, star of the BBC series 'Casanova', is to become the new Dr Who.
Tennant will replace Christopher Eccleston who is leaving the role of the Time Lord after just one series.
The 34-year-old will begin working on the next series of 'Dr Who' in the summer.
Commenting on his casting, Tennant said: "I am delighted, excited and honoured to be the 10th Doctor. I grew up loving Doctor Who and it has been a lifelong dream to get my very own Tardis."
